Beach Time

So these last few weeks have been quite a blur but we've been having a great time. One of our biggest milestones is that Kamea started eating solid foods. Dad fed her rice cereal while I was in Korea two weeks ago and last week she had her first vegetable, peas, and loved them! She has been eating her cereal and peas every day and the daycare ladies say she's really enjoying the food. I'm going to make some zucchini and squash this weekend and give her some new tastes.

Also, over the last couple of days Kamea went from sitting up while being propped up to sitting up all on her own! We went to the daycare yesterday to pick her up and saw her sitting all on her own just babbling to the other babies. Now all she wants to do is sit up and see what's going on around her.

Today we took a trip to the beach and Kamea had a blast! She went "swimming" in the ocean and played in the sand. She had such a great time playing in the water and sitting on the beach although she got pretty tired after lunch and passed out for a nice snooze. She played a little more in the sand and water until we had to leave and slept the whole way home!

Not a whole lot else going on lately, we've been busy with work. Craig flew up to Yakota AB on mainland Japan recently to transport a preterm labor woman back to Okinawa, the Navy base next to us is the only NICU center in the Pacific besides Hawaii. On his flight up there he flew right by Mt. Fuji and saw a little bit of Tokyo from the air but he was only on the ground a short amount of time before flying back to Okinawa.

We hope everyone is doing well and we'll update again soon! The top two pictures are of our beach trip and the third picture is Kamea and Craig in front of our house (we share a multiplex with four houses per complex).
