Typhoon season

The girls posing in the morning before going to daycare.
Well we dodged the last typhoon two weeks ago but now it looks like we'll be getting our first typhoon of the season tomorrow.  Craig is on his way to Guam, everyone typically evacs with the jets so he'll be enjoying a few days in Guam while I hold down the fort with the kids and the cats.  Right now the typhoon isn't supposed to go directly over us but it's a super typhoon so I'm guessing we'll get a lot of wind and rain and be without power, as always on base, for awhile.  We're a little nervous because Craig's cousin, Lisa, is coming to visit us and is supposed to arrive on Wednesday so hopefully she doesn't get stuck in Tokyo on her way here and the typhoon passes quickly so she can make it to Okinawa.  We'll see how long Craig is gone but hopefully he'll be back before, or at least just a day after, Lisa arrives.
It's so tough being Craig, his view in Guam.

The kids are doing well, Laila is getting excited for her upcoming birthday.  Kamea has been practicing singing Happy Birthday all the time for her and Laila is always talking about the bouncy castle she'll have at her birthday party.  We're going to celebrate her birthday a week early while Craig's cousin is visiting so we're excited for her party next weekend, I can't believe she's going to be two!!  Time is going by so quick.
Laila was so excited to eat breakfast at daycare with Kamea.
Laila just transitioned to her new daycare room, she's now in the same toddler room as Kamea.  Usually it takes a week for them to transition where they'll spend a couple hours the first day in their new room then go back to their old room and each day add a little more time on so that by Friday they're completely in the new room.  Well, Laila had to be bribed with lunch on Monday to go back to her old room and on Tuesday she refused  to go back so she's been in Kamea's room ever since.  The girls love being in the room together and the teachers said they're doing great together.

Kamea looks like such a  big girl with her new backpack.
The kids are very excited for our next trip, we'll be going to Tokyo Disney at the beginning of July for about a week.  The girls can't wait to see their friends Hila and Gabrielle (our friends from Fairchild and their daughters) along with Mickey and Minnie and Cinderella.  We're going to spend a day at Tokyo Disney then a day at Disney Sea before doing some sightseeing so we've very excited for our upcoming trip.  We decided it'd be best to do this trip before we become outnumbered in just two short months.

Baby #3 is doing great, I have another ultrasound this coming Thursday so hopefully all is still well.  He is so active though, non stop kicking and moving around.  We've settled on a name, Craig actually suggested it long before we knew he was a boy and we've both agreed on it and never thought of any other names since so unless something else comes up Baby #3 will be Hayden.

We hope everyone is doing well and we'll update again soon after Laila's birthday party and our trip to Tokyo.
Catherine, Craig, Kamea, Laila and Baby #3 (most likely Hayden)

  1. Another great post Catherine, but I agree with one of the previous comments, I wish you could get a nap in as well as keeping us 'far-away' families updated. The girls are so beautiful and always look so pretty in their outfits.
